Calligraphy
Calligraphy is to form beautiful letters and symbols writing by hand.

Canvas
A woven fabric for acrylic or oil paint. Most often attached to a wooden frame.
Card Folding
To fold cardstock into a card. There are many different card folding techniques used by cardmakers.
Card Mission
Challenge yourself into making several cards at once. For example in order to use a whole block of design paper or to use your scraps.
Card Revival
Redesigning significant parts of, or an entire, old card into new card.

Card Stock
Heavy paper used as base for cards, layouts and other paper projects.

Card Topper
An image which is made for being motif on a handmade card.
Cardmaking
Cardmaking is to make handmade cards.

Cardmaking Day
The first Saturday in October. Also called World Cardmaking Day.
Cascade Card
A card where two pieces of cardboard is folded in several pleats and then put together. See example here: Cascade Cards Also called Cascade Accordion Card or Double Casade Card.
CASE
Means Copy and Steal Everything and is when you copy a card, a layout or other paper projects entirely. Even though it says “steal” you should ask the original cardmaker or scrapbooker about permission before doing a CASE.
CD cover
The packaging of a Compact Disc (CD). In paper crafting used for storaging unmounted stamps or metal dies.
Cellophane
Thin plastic film in paper crafting used for packaging cards and other paper projects.

Center Panel Easel Card
A card where the center panel of the card stands up like an easel: Center Panel Easel Card
Center Step Card
A step card where the center section is bigger than the others: Center Step Card Also called Center Step Easel Card
Center Tie Card
A card with two flaps that are tied together at the front of the card: Center Tie Card
Centimetre
A metric unit measuring length.
CHA
Craft & Hobby Association. Rebranded in 2017 to Association for Creative Industries.
Chalk
Coloured or white stick made for writing and drawing. Mostly for use on chalkboard but in paper crafting also used on paper and other surfaces.
Chalk Ink
Pigment ink with permanent powder finish.

Chalkboard Technique
A technique using white ink to stamp on dark cardstock making it look like a chalkboard.
Challenge
Participating in challenges is popular among many paper crafters and there are a lot of challenges to choose from: Challenges
Chameleon Pens
Permanent alcohol based ink pens with inbuilt blending system.
Charm
A small ornament made of metal. In paper crafting used for decorative purposes.

Cheese Cloth
A cotton fabric used in cheese making. In paper crafting cheese cloth is used for decorative purposes, especially on cards in vintage style.

Chipboard
Cardboard cut in different forms and shapes used for decorating paper projects.

Trade Show for the Creative Industry held in United Kingdom.
Circle Easel Card
Easel Card which has been cut in a circle.

Classic
The classic style in paper crafting refers to the way cards and layouts were decorated in the most popular period of cardmaking and scrapbooking starting from year 2000 until 2006.
Classic Cutting
The classic cutting refers cutting a window in front of a card. The window can be round, square or rectangular. Also called classic window.

Clean and Simple (CAS)
A style in paper crafting where the card or layout is held clean and simple without much decoration and with a lot of white space.

Clear Embossing
Heat embossing with clear embossing powder.
Clear Stamp
Stamps made of clear material like photopolymer, acrylic or silicone.
Cling Stamp
A stamp with a adhesive on the backside to make it cling to an acrylic block.
Clip
Also called paper clip. Used for fasten papers. In paper crafting used for fasten a card onto something or for decorative purposes.
Clip Art
Graphic Art which can be printed out and used for decorating cards, layouts and other paper projects.
Clip Card
A small card with a paper clip on top of it.

Cluster Stamping
A technique where one stamp is used several times in a cluster on a card. For example when stamping a stamp showing a tree in a cluster for making a forrest.
Collage
A collection of paper pieces or images put together.
Collage Fodder
Everything a collage artist can glue down onto their artwork.

Color Burst
Color Burst is coloured powder which can be mixed with water. Color Burst can be used for different techniques and for making backgrounds.

Colour Blocking
Mixing contradictory colours to make interesting statement pieces.
Colour Coordination
Matching colours. Complementary colours are opposite eachother in a colour wheel.
Colouring
In paper crafting the word colouring is mostly used for describing the technique of colouring stamped images.

Condolence Card
A card made for expressing sympathy with someone who recently has experienced a loss.

Contemporary
Contemporary refers to the popular trend regarding fashion, activities and objects in present time.
Copic Markers
Fast-drying, permanent, alcohol based markers mostly used for colouring stamped images.
Corrugated Cardboard
Cardboard made for packaging. The cardboard has tight ridges and vallyes. In paper crafting corrugated cardboard is mostly used for decorative purposes.

Crackle Paint
Crackle Paint is a type of paint that cracks as it dries.

Craft Room
A room which is dedicated to and optimized for crafting.

Craft Sheet
Reuseable, non-stick mat made for protecting the table when crafting.
Craft Stamper
Specialized stamping magazine published in United Kingdom until 2020.
Crafts Beautiful
Magazine about crafting published in Britain. Publishes articles about cardmaking, paper crafting, knitting, stitching etc.
Crayons
Wax sticks made for colouring. Made in many different colours.
Creativation
Yearly trade show for the creative industry.
Creative Lettering
Forming letters and symbols by creative hand writing. Often used on layouts, in Art and Bullet Journals.
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine
Paper crafting magazine featuring cardmaking, scrapbooking, stamping and Mixed Media projects. Published in Canada.
Crepe Paper
Tissue paper with a crinkled surface.

Cricut
Digital cutting machine which cut forms and shapes from digital cut files.
Criss Cross Card
Also called Cross Over Card. The card has a diagonal cross at the front of the card: Criss Cross Cards
Crop A Dile
All-in-one tool which punches hole through almost any material.
Crop in Style
Scrapbooking tote for transporting materials and equipment used in scrapbooking and other paper crafting.
Cropper Hopper
Paper holder and organizer.
Cut file
Digital images to be used with digital cutting machines.
Cutting machine
A machine which cuts paper either manually using metal dies or digitally using cut files.
