Facebook Event
A creative event held on Facebook. Mostly used describing online (cyber) crops for paper crafters.
Fade Resistant
Used for describing the quality of for example ink. An ink being fade resistant means that the colours of the ink will persist over time.
Fan Fold Card
A type of card which is folded like a fan: Fan Fold Cards
Fancy Flap Card
A card with a diagonally cut flap on the front. The flap usually has a window: Fancy Flap Cards
Fanfare Fold Card
Fanfare Fold Card is a type of card with two vertical mountain folds: Fanfare Fold Card Also called Flag Fold Card.
Faux Cloisonne
Faux Cloisonne is a technique originally used in jewellery making. In papercraft the Faux Cloisonne effect is achieved by using colourful images from glossy magazines. You then stamp on these images with clear embossing ink, and use embossing powder in gold, silver or other metal: Faux Cloisonne Technique
Faux Postage
Faux Postage is an image which resembles a postage stamp. Faux Postage is used for decorating paper projects, for example in a Ephemera style.
Faux Snow
Faux Snow is white particles which look like snow, usually made of plastic. Faux Snow is used for decorative purposes.
Faux Stitching
Faux Stiching is when you draw or impress “stitching” without actually sewing on a paper project.
Feather
Feathers are used for decorative purposes on paper projects, and is very popular to use especially on Easter cards and layouts.
File Folder Card
A File Folder Card is a card which look like a File Folder: File Folder Cards
Film Strip
Film Strips in paper crafting is plastic strips which look like actual film strips. These are made for decorative purposes.
Fixative
A spray that fix or sets something. In paper crafting for example used for setting chalk.
Flip Flap Card
A Flip Flap Card is a card with a moveable flap on the front of the card: Flip Flap Card There is also a version with three flaps on the front. This is called Flip Flap Shutter Card
Flip Flop Card
A Flip Flop Card is a like a Flip Flap Card, but with one or more round flaps at the front: Flip Flop Card
Floating Element
A floating element is when you attach elements to a sheet of plastic (acetat) and then mount it on 3D foam tape before using it as the main image on a card.
Floating Pop Up Card
A floating pop up card has the pop up effect at the inside of the card. When you open it two (or more) pieces of paper pop out: Floating Pop Up Card
Fluid Painting
Painting in layers with fluid painting, also known as acrylic pouring.
Foam Stamp
Foam stamps are made of foam and have a bolder image than rubber or clear stamps usually have. Foam Stamps can be used with ink and paints.
Foamiran
Foamiran is thin foam which usually is distributed in sheets. In paper crafting Foamiran is mostly used for making flowers.
Foil
Metallic paper used in papercraft. There are different types of foil like adhesive foil, transfer foil and heat foil – in most part separted because of the different ways to attach the foil to a surface.
Foil Flakes
Also called gilding flakes. Very thin and delicate metal flakes used for decorating paper projects.
Fold Card
A card which is folded in a way that makes it different than a normal card.
Form Cutting
Cutting out a form in a paper, for example a leaf, and keep the paper and make a card out of it (reverse cutting).
Four Fold Card
Four Fold Cards has four folds in different sizes starting with the smallest one at the front of the card and the biggest at the back. The two folds in the middle are sometimes the same size: Four Fold Card Also called Four Panel Z Fold Card.
Four Step Card
A four step card has four steps at the inside of the card: Four Step Card But if you need more steps that is easy to make. The card in the photo has six steps.
Framelits
Framelit dies are thin dies which cut the paper at the inner edge of the die. Framelit dies are manufactured by Sizzix.
Frantage
Frantage is an embossing powder in vintage style making a thick layer of embossing. Often Frantage is sprinkled over a paper surface and heated from underneath using a heat gun.
Freebie
Sometimes paper products like digital stamps are offered for free by the manufactures. These free products are called freebies.
Fuse Tool
A tool which seals plastic, for example when making plastic pockets.
Fuzzy Cutting
To cut out figures, for example from design papers, using a scissor.
