Gatefold Card

A card with two flaps opening up at the front like a gate: Cards with Gatefolds Also called Gate Cards.

Gatefold Shutter Card

A Gatefold Shutter Card has the same opening at the front as a Gatefold Card has. The difference is when you open the card. In a Gatefold Shutter Card a shutter is revealing something as you open the card – usually this is a small image or a small piece of text: Gatefold Shutter Cards

Gears

It is popular to use gears to decorate cards and layouts. Most often gears are used for decorating cards and layouts in transportation theme, or in a Steam Punk style. The small decorative gears used in paper crafting is usually made of paper, plastic or metal.

Gel Printing Plate

A Gel Printing Plate is a gel plate which is used for gelli printing.

Gelli Printing

Gelli printing is to use to gel plate to press paint or ink to paper. While the ink or paint still is at the gel printing plate you can use different objects, like for example stencils, to make patterns which will be transferred to the paper.

Gelatos

Watercolour chalks manufactured by Faber-Castell and can be used for both wet and dry techniques. Gelatos have a creamy consistency and can be applied to paper, canvas, fabric and wood.

Geometric

A geometric pattern is made of squares, circles, triangles and rectangles. Geometric patterns are often used in paper crafting.

Gesso

Gesso is thin acrylic paint, usually white. Gesso is used for priming surfaces before painting with acrylic or oil paint.

Ghost Print

Ghost Print is the second print you make when gelli printing. The first print is called primary print.

Giveaway

Giveaways are very common in in paper crafting. Giveaway is when a blog, a manufacturer, a magazine or others have a prize they give away to a lucky winner.

Glanzbilde

Glanzbilde is a glossy image, often in Vintage style. In paper crafting glanzbilde can be used for decorative purposes.

Glass Media Mat

A popular glass surface made for crafting. The glass media mat has a grid pattern with inch and centimetres and is manufactured by Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios.

Gliding Wax

Gliding Wax is mostly used for Mixed Media projects and is a metallic wax used for adding a shining effect.

Glimmer Glam

Glimmer Glam is paint with glitter.

Glimmer Mist

Glimmer Mist is a mist paint which adds glimmer to cards, layouts or other paper projects.

Glitter

In paper crafting glitter is used for decorating card, layouts and other paper projects. Glitter is small sparkling pieces and is especially popular to use on Christmas projects.

Glitter Glue

Glitter Glue is coloured glue with glitter in it.

Gloss Spray

Gloss Spray is a acrylic spray which is glossy when it dries. Gloss Spray is manufactured by Dina Wakely.

Glossy Accents

Glossy Accents is a clear dimensional medium. Glossy Accents dries to clear gloss finish.

Glue Dots

Glue Dots are adhesive dots which are designed to be permanent when used on paper.

Glue Gun

A tool which melts glue sticks into liquid glue. When the glue gets cold it makes a strong bond to the surface.

Glue Sheet

A glue sheet is an adhesive sheet.

Gothic

Gothic is a style characterized by mystery and horror and is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. In paper craft the Gothic style is often used when making cards and layouts for Halloween.

Gouache

Gouache paint is similar to acrylic paint, but can be reactivated by water. Gouache is also less resistant to light and dust than acrylic paint is.

Graphic

Graphic in paper crafting is stylized image or text on a card or other paper projects.

Grid Technique

When you make a card using Grid Technique you can use Post It notes to cover up parts of the surface and make squares. Then you apply ink by using a dauber and stamp the images you want to have in each of the squares.

Grit Paste

Dimensional medium which makes a textured effect. Dries to a matte finish which can be coloured.

Grunge

Grunge is a type of style which is very popular in paper crafting. It is a style inspired by earth, nature and the authentic. Tim Holtz is the foremost representative for the Grunge style in paper crafting.

Grungeboard

Grungeboard is flexible, thin chipboard.

Guest Designer

A Guest Designer is someone who designs for a manufacturer, challenge blog, magazine or other for a shorter period of time. A guest designer is not a regular member of the design team.
