I also like Tim-Holtz-American-kind-of-Retro-style. How I like that!  Especially for Christmas cards. Distressed motifs in 50’s style, plaid patterns, holly, glitter, on black with distressed old white/coca cola red/botanical green and icy blue. Ohh, I hear Bing Crossby singing in the background!

So how about pairing those two? That would be a fun mission to me.

So I started the project by choosing paper and stamp and the way I  tried to make those 2 quite different subjects match, was by colors. I took an intens look at the colors of the design papers – the way things were made to look old and rustic – and then on with the markers and try to “transfer” the look to the stamp motif.

To me silver glitter is the original old glitter and then pair it up with plaid(design paper), holly(collage paper) and some Christmas words (design paper cut-outs) to kickstart the imagination of christmas music, christmas movies and christmas feelings,- then it’s begining to look a lot like christmas.

The card ended up being 11,5 x 21 cm – and jingling.
I wish you a november day full of christmassy vibes and perhaps fun matches of, what you love.
