Do you love laces and pattern paper like I do? I started my crafting journey creating with laces. But then my love for paper grew.
Although I haven’t made anything recently with laces, I want to share and hopefully inspire you with this 8×10 Jane Austen Vintage Junk Journal.
This was actually a vintage photo album I found at a thrift store. Then finally after a couple years of having it, I decided I would make something with it.

Here are some quick steps on how I made this. I used muslin fabric on the base along with black lace piece, white cotton gathered eyelet lace and ivory braided gimp trim.
I made the pages using muslin and the pages from the album. I sewed some of these pieces together and also used Helmar Fabric glue where needed.
For the pages of the album I papered them using the Jane’s Memoirs collection from Blue Fern Studios. I did make some pages using muslin fabric.
I had items such as vintage ephemera, envelopes, patterned paper bags and adhered on smaller pieces of laces on these pages too. Also used larger pieces of a variety of laces to create pockets on some of these pages.
Lastly on the cover I used a large piece of Venice lace, a white doily , and a canvas postcard that I stamped on. I used embossing powders on the frame & Jane Austen silhouette and then adhered some bling from my stash. I added fabric flowers and a few paper flowers to create my flower bunch. Adding a gorgeous stick pin I got from a very talented friend on a swap.
Here is a video of the entire album, I do hope I have sprinkled on that inspiration on you today!
Hugs!
