Homemade card for a keen cyclist

This homemade card was made for a colleague who is a keen cyclist. It is fun to be able to make cards so personal that they are recognizable both to the recipient and those around them. He is from the mountains, and then it was natural to incorporate that into the card.

The front of the card is quite simple. That’s because this is a type of card that should stand up. It closes with a magnet.

Here I use my Silhouette. Bought a simple cyclist file that I adapted to this card. The background on the card is built up layer by layer so that it would not be so flat. I cut out a red and a black bicycle and attached them together.

The cyclists are only supported with small paper supports at the back. They can be put down together with the card and stand up when the card is opened. The sign in the background indicates the age of the jubilant. I have cut that out and attached it to a paper straw.

I had a strip of “road” that used here. It’s actually a type of die-cut that I’ve had lying around for many years. It fits perfectly here. Congratulations are also punched out of gray and red cardboard, attached together with text stickers and enamels.

Here it shows better how the cyclists are attached and how the background is structured. The sheet I have used at the bottom is an old sheet from the beginning of my scrapping days. I don’t remember what I thought about it. But it fit nicely here to give the impression that the road stretches between the water and the mountains.

This is how the card looks like when it has been completely shut down. I have made small spacer blocks from paper which I have used between the layers on the background.

I have also cut out some grass and glued on some flowers along the road. The mountains with cabin and caravan is cut out from a pattern sheet.

I have hidden a cow in the mountains. There is a little symbolism in it. I cut out a balloon from another pattern sheet which I attached to the mountains. March is the first month of spring and there will certainly be more cyclists along the road. Take care of each other.
