The style “Whimsical” refers to the imaginative and playful. People often draw inspiration from the more mythical elements of nature and fairy tales.
Occasion
Whimsical style can be used for all kind of projects but are most often used for cards and layouts made for children.
Motif
The motifs on paper projects within the “Whimsical” style are often either taken from the world of fairy tales in the form of elves, fairies or other figures we recognize from fairy tales and myths. But it is not entirely rare that you also see animals as motifs in projects within this style.

Shape and Patterns
No particular shape. Often floral pattern.
Colors
Bright and/or earth tone colors, often greenish.
Decoration
The decoration usually consists of elements from nature such as flowers, plants, insects and butterflies. These can often have abstract shapes and patterns.
Techniques
No particular techniques. Blending is sometimes used for making backgrounds.
