Coloring Pages Done…Now What?

Sometimes when I either don’t feel well or my crafty mojo isn’t quite up to speed, I like to relax, turn on the tv and color.  No pressure, no thoughts in mind, just keeping my hands busy while watching.  But when my page is done – what am I going to do with it?  In this article, I’ll be discussing how to use those pages you’ve colored!

My coloring page is from Nikhatillustrations on Etsy.  This particular one is called Hues of Blues – so, of course, I had to color it in shades of blue!  I first printed this off my computer.  I did enlarge it slightly so it covered the entire 8 1/2″ x 11″ .  I used X-PressIt card stock and 4 shades of blue alcohol markers.

On the website where I purchased this, there was an example of this particular page colored, so I used that as a guide for my coloring.  I didn’t over complicate things and loosely followed the example.  I made sure that most of the time the same color was not touching.

When I finished my coloring, I cut the image into quarters so I could make A2 size cards from them.

You can see the panel on the right already has some pearl embellishments.  I haven’t made these into cards yet, but that’s the plan!  I did finish 2 of panels.  On one of them, I snipped away the bottom using the design as a guide.  Then I was able to underlay a piece of navy card stock underneath and heat emboss my sentiment.  On the sympathy card, I layered the panel with a darker blue card stock and adhered it to a light blue card base.  I sentiment tag along with the pearls made this a perfect sympathy card.

I hope this has given you some ideas on how to use those panels that you’ve colored.  They really make easy cards!
