A Display for throughout the year
In honour of Mother’s Day ….I designed this card as a keep sake. It can be displayed on a table/desk at home or desk at work not only for Mother’s Day but for the entire year.
Front of the Card
The front was designed as a swing card with two different sentiments. First, I got a piece of card stock 8 1/2 x 14 (you can use 8 1/2 X 11….) and cut it into 2 pieces about 5 1/2 in, each. Then I scored and folded both at 1 inch. Next I cut out a square to form the window of the first and edged it with gold foil card stock.
Middle of the Card
To construct the middle of the card, I scored and folded the 2nd card piece at 1 in, but this time I placed the fold to the bottom. I used this to connect the middle to the back part of the card. Then I glued on one floral image (I coloured two of the same images) from the company Powerpoppy….backed on to gold foil card stock. I added the sentiments “Happy Mother’s Day” and “Wishing you a day filled with loveliness” by Penny Black.
Back of the Card
Taking another sheet of cardstock 8 1/2 X 14 in, I cut it to 11 1/2 in length x 5 1/2 width. I scored and folded at 1 inch on the top and at the bottom (to make the accordion shape) to allow the card to stand alone, I scored and folded at 3 in, then 1 1/2 in x 1 1/2 in. I attached top and bottom to the swing part at the front of the card. Now the card stands at 7 1/2 X 5 1/2 in.
The Complete Look
I adhered the 2nd floral image also coloured with prismacolor pencils and a different sentiment “ You deserve to have a special day”. Now the card can be viewed from both sides.
