Paper Project Of 2023 – Nominated In May

Each month we nominates a paper project for “The Project of the Year” in TPC Magazine. At the end of the year, we will have nominated twelve monthly projects, one of which will be elected, by TPC’s readers, as “Paper Project of the Year 2023”. Today we have the pleasure of presenting the nominated project in May.

The nominated paper project in May is a wonderful layout made by Melissa in Texas, US. The reason for choosing Melissa’s project is:

The reason I have chosen Melissa Larson’s gorgeous layout is because of the amount of beautiful details in this layout as well as all of her creative makes. All of her projects have a unique signature and if you follow her on social media, you will see what that is. I always look forward to her projects.

Description of the project?
This is a 12 x 12 mixed media scrapbooking page.

How is the project created?
It is created with a layer of clear gesso, texture paste is put on with a spatula, then layers of cardboard with the photo. It is surrounded with flowers, bling, Shimmerz Paints watercolors, and Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board. I used fussy cut Prima paper on the area around the photo. I start with tiny items: microbeads, diamond glass glitter, clear and colored glass beads, pearls, and metal items. At the end I add sisal, rub gold mica powder on some areas, and flick on white ink with a brush.

How long did it take to create the project?
This took about two days to make.

What inspired you to create this?
I was inspired by the theme suggested by the photo. I get a lot of inspiration from the items I use, the colors.

Address to any blog/website?
I’m on instagram a lot and am inspired by what I see people created. I love beautiful things and want to create my own: melissalarson57
