Paper Project Of 2023 – Nominated In July

Each month we nominates a paper project for “The Project of the Year” in TPC Magazine. At the end of the year, we will have nominated twelve monthly projects, one of which will be elected, by TPC’s readers, as “Paper Project of the Year 2023”. Today we have the pleasure of presenting the nominated project in July.

The nominated paper project in July is a wonderful card made by Amy in US. The reason for choosing Amy’s project simply is:

“I love her art”

Description of the project? What inspired you to create this?
I made this card for episode 146 of Craft Roulette. I was at a Kindred Stamps retreat in Portland, Oregon, and didn’t have supplies for card making since I was focusing on coloring stamped images that weekend. Luckily, the community of awesome women came to my rescue, and I was able to create this card. The parameters were double tag card, 2 greens + 2 other colors, shelf/shelves, and In the Background.

Size of the project?
The project is a 4.25 x 5.5 side folding card.

How is the project created? What kind of materials are used?
I used white paper from a Canson Mix Media journal to form the card base and all die cut pieces. I had previously stamped the green alien (Kindred Stamps) and shelf (My Favorite Things) on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored both with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers and added highlights with a white gel pen. I drew and colored the jars on the shelf. I ink blended the background and tags using Catherine Pooler inks.

How long did it take to create the project?
This project took at least a couple hours to create as I had to borrow almost everything used on the card. Luckily, one of the women at the crop had a binder filled with Queen & Company dies, so I spent a lot of time die cutting. Another gal at the crop had the perfect sentiment from Kindred Stamps to finish off the card.
