During this summer my daughter has found a little flat of her own and is moving away from home – only a few miles away, but now with her own kitchen and not with mamas homecooking every night. She’s been asking about some of my recipes and this is the reason for this day’s project – a scrap cookbook.
I have written down how to cook her favorites of my cooking and old family handed down recipes on different colored and patterned paper. Not super perfect and pretty, – but personal.
The book is a simple notebook with hard back and blank lined pages. The paper is quiet thin, which prevents you in being able to make big and heavy layouts, so I’ve been looking through my stash for thin design paper – and for diecuts, ephemra and stickers all with kitchen or food motifs or text.
I also found design papers with patterns, which would fit right into a beautiful and cosy Danish summer cottage kitchen – stripes, dots and checks in pretty pastels.
It’s so much fun and easy-going. Not so much thinking – more playing At the same time it’s a very personal gift to make with the possibility to write small loving notes, fun stories and good advice
This project is an almost never-ending project, – many more recipes can always be glued in.
I only wish, that I had startet a lot sooner – and then had worked on it on/off over the last 4-5 years.
The best day to you all – perhaps with both a little cooking and scrapping
