Sign Of The Time

At least it’s a sign of my sweet mothe rs time on earth. She lives in a nursing home and turned 80, so of course that little community had to be made aware of her special day, so I made her a door sign.

Type of project: Door Sign
Occasion:
Milestone Birthday
Style:
Romanti/Elegant
Techniques used:
Die cutting, Flower sculpting
Decoration:
Rhinestones, Micro Beads
Main colour:
Blush/Rosegold
Medium
used: Ink, Color Powder, Color Sprays, Glitter (for the flowers)
Equipment used:
Die Cutting Machine, Flower SculptingTtools, Silhuette Camero

I’m first and foremost a card maker and have several beautiful, fun, artistic etc.  number dies, but when it comes to a door sign with the intension to shout out BIRTHDAY,  a little card sized 8 and 0 fall a  bit short. But I’m luckely blessed to have a friend with a Silhuette Camero, and she and her machine helped me make the sign it self and the two numbers in an approximately size  30 x 30 cm/ 12 x 12 inches.

Next step – flowers…Now all those flower dies, which I’ve always found too big for cards, came in handy. And also glitter and shine were used in large doses on the flowers, so that they could draw attention.

The hardest part was to place the flowers nicely around the numbers and to find the right amount – not too little and not too much.
But apart from that, it was an easy way to make a bigger difference and make everyone aware of my sweet mothers milestone birthday.

Along with the sign, I also made her a little 15 x 15 cm  Explosion box in the same colors and style.

A wonderful almost spring-day – al least according to the calendar – for you all – perhaps with some larger attention drawing projects.
